The week off for the Canucks looked to be a deterent as they hosted the Canmore Eagles on Wednesday night at Max Bell. The Eagles caught the Canucks off guard scoring 4 times in the first 13 1/2 minutes and then hang on for a 4-3 win. A very tough loss after the thrilling 4-3 win over the second place Camrose Kodiaks a week ago. The Canucks seemed to take a while to get their legs under them, down 4-0 untill Matt Heseltine (Geiger, Lewington) finally managed to put the Canucks on the scoreboard to finish 20 minutes 4-1 Canmore. Trent Geiger scored an unassisted marker in the second, 4-2 Canmore after 40 minutes. Derek Thorogood (Glasspoole, Mangone) made it 4- 3in the third but that's all the Canucks could muster as the Eagles soar out of Max Bell with a very important 2 points plucked out of the Canucks nest.

Michael Matyas got the start in net for the Canucks with 25 saves on 29 shots.

Derek Thorogood was chosen as the Canucks game star.

The Canucks season will continue at home on Jan 28 hosting the Dragons.

The Canucks require "OFF ICE OFFICIALS" for this season. Goal Judge, Penalty Box Officials, Time Keepers and Score Keepers are needed. Training will be given as required.
